MY EXPERIENCE:
I am so thankful to Anje Collins for bringing her PR Boot Camp workshop to Chicago. It was awesome! I walked in not knowing what to expect and what I received was honest, gritty, raw, real life public relations knowledge. Some would say it’s more than what’s being taught in universities and colleges world-wide with that being said, I would have to agree. Anje is a genuine soul who’s open and willing to give back to the younger generation such as myself; advising aspiring and rookie publicists in the game. The PR Boot Camp supplied all the basics of starting your own public relations business, how to write and effective press releases, proposals as well as how to pitch to targeted media outlets and prospective clients.
Those in our workshop had the ability to speak with Anje directly regarding our personal career goals and listened as she gave honest feedback about what we should do, how to do it, and when to do it. I must say the Chicago PR Boot Camp workshop was over too soon, I promise those five hours flew by, I couldn’t believe it was over. If you have not yet attended one of Anje Collins PR Boot Camps or Summits, please sign up now.
Forever Thankful,
Quiana Hughes

Good Morning Angela-

It was truly a pleasure meeting you this past Saturday. The workshop was not only informative and insightful, but it was also entertaining. You are truly a professional and great at what you do; I truly appreciate all the work you’re doing for up and coming publicist. I’m looking forward to the summit and I’ll definitely stay in touch because I’m desperately in need of a mentor ;-).

Hi Anje,
It was great meeting you at the Baltimore PR Boot Camp. I had a great time and you pretty much “gave me everything” that day. Words can’t express how great of an impact the work that you’re doing will have on us young PR folk.

Once again thank you.
Look forward to hearing from you,

Hi Anje,

This is Krishana Davis, the Ideal Publicity intern. Thank you so much for coming to Baltimore, your knowledge and insight have me really excited to further explore PR. You really opened my eyes to different aspects in PR and I want to host a fashion show fundraiser for human trafficking now. I was hoping you could give me some guidance through the process.
Best,
Krishana Davis

Hey Anje!
The bootcamp was great. I really enjoyed your candidness and the way it was ran overall. The only thing I would change was the toolkit situation. I would have rather them be there so we wouldn’t have to wait for the information. Otherwise I think it was awesome and I learned so much. I’m implementing everything slowly but surely.

Hi Anje,

The Chicago PR boot camp was one of the best PR seminars I’ve been to. I loved the intimacy and relaxed vibe of the event. You kept it real and honest and you didn’t make anyone feel uncomfortable. I really liked the way you showed us how to start a PR business and how not to be taken advantage of. Most of us are in our 20’s trying to find our way. Direction from seasoned pro like you really makes an impact in our lives. I learned more from you than I did in Grad School. You provide real life examples and you didn’t sugar coat anything. I could see that all of the women at boot camp left inspired and ready to work on their goals.

I honestly don’t think you need to change anything. If anything make it longer so we can talk more. Outside of that you gave us more than $60 worth of information. Our group was lucky because it was small. I’ve connected with the Chicago girls a few times and we’re still talking about boot camp.

Thanks a million for sharing your knowledge with us.

Good Afternoon Anje,

This is Kristin Fennell from your Philly bootcamp. I honestly thought that you were very real and held nothing back. This is a good thing, as most people who are hosting educational workshops tend to sugarcoat things a little. I loved your enthusiasm to see others learn and become successful in public relations. I learned so much from your workshop, and I know that there are a lot of up and coming PR people who would love to hear your lessons. I believe that you meeting us face to face shows your commitment to educating others. I hope that you will be able to continue to travel to reach out to those who are seeking REAL world info about public relations and how to be successful in it. If you wont be able to continue traveling, why not write a book? 🙂 But I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I look forward to meeting you again, hopefully at one of your other seminars. Thank you so much for all your info. I may have to call on ya in the future for more!
Sincerely,
Kristin Fennell

It was such a pleasure speaking with Anje this afternoon. Not only did she answer the questions I asked but she also told me some of her personal stories. Speaking with her gave me invaluable information and also the confidence to start my business. The conversation mainly dealt with the importance of brand building and being at the right place at the right time. I am looking forward to the Luncheon in New York as well as the PR Summit in November.

Thanks again,
Leslie Brock

Anje,
Thank you for taking the time to consult me today. The information you provided was priceless! I gained so much in our short conversation and have already put alot of your advice into action! It’s refreshing to know that there are PR professionals out there who are willing to share their expertise to the up and comers and I am glad that our twitter paths have crossed.
I am looking forward to meeting you in person soon.

Good afternoon, Anje,
I just wanted to thank you once again for all of your help and guidance. I especially appreciate the fact that you took time out of your schedule to speak with me further in regards to the PR industry last weekend. I have learned so much from our discussions, and truly feel as though your advice and guidance have given me more insight and knowledge than my formal classes have taught me while I was in school! Its refreshing to speak with someone such as yourself that is so generous when it comes to helping others and guiding them in their professional aspirations. I truly hope we are able to keep in touch sometime soon, and best of luck with all of your future endeavors!
Sincerely,
Monique Peterson

Thank you for taking the time out to answer my questions. The one on one session was truly appreciated. As I previously expressed, I’ve been doing PR for a while, and not even knowing it. Now that I am officially taking steps into doing this officially AND the right way… your words of wisdom eliminated a lot of self-doubt & nervousness. It’s reassuring to know that there are veterans in the game that actually lend a helping hand as opposed to leaving me to the dogs. Thank you again, and I will definitely be in touch.

Lata Love,

Dear Ms. Collins:Thank you so much for the 30 minute telephone consultation about the entertainment PR industry! I was truly impressed by your portfolio and how our phone call seamlessly transitioned from a formal interview to a relaxed conversation. I especially appreciate your encouragement and frank answers to the ‘tough questions’ about the PR game.
You certainly have a wealth of information to share and I look forward to speaking with you again soon. Thanks again,

As a student in the PR industry the future can be overwhelming with the pressure to not only excel in your degree but gain as much hands experience as possible. Anje Collins has not only formed a positive network for all women in the industry but also an unmatched learning outlet for students and newbies. Earlier I had a 30 minute phone consultation with Anje which gave me tremendous insight to not only the field but the hard work ahead. We covered everything from internships, starting your own firm, to the challenges of being a woman in the industry. I feel like I have a more of an understanding of the direction I need to take and the personal homework I need to start.
Thank you,
Katelyn Hinden
